Calgary Storm Basketball Club - Mission Statement

We live in a competitive world, and preparing our youth to step into life can be a challenge. The Calgary Storm offers opportunities to develop a strong work ethic while competing through club basketball. We expect commitment and hard work while developing skills and team play.

The practices will be challenging and designed to push our players to reach beyond themselves and discover their untapped potential, to learn that rewards and performance are realized through hard work and commitment.

Through the encouragement and teaching of our qualified coaches we expect the players in our program to develop skills and confidence for a higher level of competition while providing quality leadership, promoting the virtues of teamwork, integrity, and a passion for the great sport of basketball.

Coaching Philosophy

We believe in providing opportunities for the personal growth and development of our athletes, on and off the court. A strong emphasis on reinforcing self-confidence, self-esteem, responsibility and strong work ethic is our coaches' priority. Through our skills, drills, games and team meetings our coaches will strive to create an environment that will build strong, confident, successful and respectful young adults. These traits will carry outside the court into their everyday lives. These life skills and attributes will be gained through strong physical growth and knowledge of the game of basketball at a highly competitive level. Our coaches utilize the Calgary Storms relationship with the Ballers Academy, which provides skills improvement, conditioning, and mental preparation which are critical components of the club's participation on the competitve basketball court.
